VETROARREDO TRADITION
The ‘Vetroarredo Tradition’ is the result of 75 years of experience ‘made in Italy’ production. It represents SEVES’s commitment to uphold the same values, passion and quality standards that made Vetroarredo not just a trusted brand, but the leader in glass block production.
From its important and historic origins in 1928, Vetroarredo became one of the most influential manufacturers in glass block history-redefining the glass block as an artistic and creative element with a new purpose in contemporary architecture: design.
Through revolutionary production technology, innovation and constant product developments, Vetroarredo modernized the glass block with the creation of Pegasus 2 mm wings-extended borders that effectively reduce the joint size between the blocks to 2mm-and additional product enhancements such as: silver metallization effects, unique glass designs and a variety of colours.
Today, the experience, passon and tradition of Vetroarredo is part of the Design Line at SEVES.
The History of Vetroareddo
Vetroarredo’s expertise dates back to 1928 when the first furnace was lit at the Istituto Sperimentale per lo Studio e l'Applicazione dei Prodotti del Boro e del Silicio, an iniative by Prince Pietro Ginori Conti to develop optical glass.
By 1990 the Istitute had evolved, first as a state-owned industrial group manufacturing optical products for the Navy during World War II and then as a private company acquired by Fidenza Vetraria-a long-established producer of glass insulators, glass blocks, glass lighting and tableware.
In 1991, Fidenza Vetraria changed its name to Vetroarredo (glass+design), and continued to grow with the acquisition of Vetrerie Lodi , Vitrablok, Solaris and Dielve until it merged with Sediver to become SEVES. |
