The BG 1919/16 60F glass block, installed horizontally (with less than 15° inclination), provides the structure with a high mechanical resistance, under the effect of flames, the propagation of fire, smoke and heat for 60 minutes (value F60 according to the German regulation DIN 4102-3).
This class of resistance not only gives the structure stability and strength but also limits the passage of heat radiationsthus also preventing objects placed in the environments protected by glass block walls from overheating.
Glass block BG 1919/16 60F is available in the smooth glass design and with three finishings (transparent, sand blasted on1 side or 2 sides) combining the need for safety with aesthetic values.
For their specific performance, F series blocks are used in buildings destined for public use (hotels, schools, nursing homes, restaurants, cinemas, etc.) and in buildings where flammable or combustible materials are stored.
In all these cases the horizontal installation of the fire resistant glass blocks must be done according to the indications given in the product certifications and it is essential to adopt all the strategies to guarantee the rapid evacuation of people in the case of fire.
